Lesson 12 – Presentation Preparation

In today's lesson, I presented about slide design using the CRAP acronym. We also chose topics for our presentations beginning next week.

Presentation Slides
You need to share your slides with me before you come to class next week.

  1. Go to Google Drive.
  2. From the New button on the top left, choose Google Slides.
  3. Give the title your full name + 16S CE2 Presentation (eg. Taro Suzuki 16S CE2 Presentation).
  4. Click the Share button and write my samuraitheologian gmail address (do not write my Rikkyo address). (You can continue to make changes after you share.)
  5. Finish your slides before class and be ready to present.


Remember, note paper is not acceptable. I will take away any full sheets of paper. You CAN use note cards.

Lesson 11 – Brits Seem Evenly Divided on Brexit

In this lesson, we listened to a news story via audio. We also practiced taking dictation.

In this story, we learn about how the idea of Brexit (the move for Britain to exit, or leave, the EU).

  2. In the same document, write the first two versions (BOTH) of the dictation and the correct version. Try to write each version EXACTLY as you wrote them down.

Lesson 9 — Muhammad Ali

In this lesson, we listened to a news story via audio. We also practiced taking dictation.

In this lesson, we learned about Muhammad Ali, one of the greatest boxers of all time. We listened to the story at a slow speed, and worked with partners to find the 5Ws, H and SW.

In addition, we took dictation of two sentences of the story to see how well we can hear each word.

Video: The Mission / How Great Thou Art (The Piano Guys: Wonders of the World Part 2)

The second stop on the Piano Guys tour of the Wonders of the World was the Christ the Redeemer Statue in Brazil. They also visited Iguazu Falls, also in Brazil. Iguazu Falls is considered by many people to be one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World. Iguazu Falls was the location for a movie called The Mission. It is a powerful movie. I recommend it to you.
